STAPLES '93 LIONS:

The Staples ’93 club was sponsored by the Staples Host Lions Club on October 11, 1993. The club started as Lionelles in February 1972 and then became Lioness in January 1980. There were 45 members on charter night made up of former Lioness members and others.

The first club president was Lion Bonnie Odell, Secretary was Lion Jennelle Shriver, Treasure Lion Kathleen Card. Charter night Chairperson was Lion Lavonne Seipkes.

The club has always been a working club. Past fundraisers were raffles sales and an annual salad luncheon. The money raised went to support projects such as an organ for the nursing home chapel, most valuable girls trophies, Brainerd State hospital, fire relief, Girl Scouts, and playground equipment as well as donations to support the Lions efforts in the state and around the world.

TODAY our club continues to be a working club and we carry on our history of donating locally and to those Lions programs that not only support our community but our state and the world.
